Brent Harvey
Brent Harvey retired in March of 2021 as Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of the Parsons Corporation. He worked for Parsons for 30 years.
His bachelor’s degree is in Chemical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, 1981 from Vanderbilt University. He has a master’s degree in environmental engineering, Magna Cum Laude, 1989 from Virginia Polytechnic and State University. He also has a master’s degree of Business Administration, 1995 from Pepperdine University School of Business. He was a licensed Professional Engineer.
Over my career with Parsons he had positions of continuous advancement and executive management experience to include Head of Business Development for the Federal Government Business Unit and Executive Vice President of the Commercial, State and local Business Units. He frequently led the capture and proposal efforts for dozens of global, multi-billion dollar projects and programs. Many of these contracts (Federal, State, Local and International) required the formation of Joint Ventures, Limited Liability Companies, and similar innovative business structures. He was a key contributing author to the Parsons Strategic Development and Capture standard. He spent 5 years as Chief of Internal Audit for the entire corporation (including all international business segments). In that position he had regular and direct contact with the Parsons CEO and the entire Board of Directors. For his final five years at Parsons, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Parsons Federal Credit Union. He is currently a member of the Finance Committee of SKYLA Federal Credit Union (merged with Parsons Federal Credit Union).
Throughout his career with Parsons he served on (and led) many teams that implemented complex projects for the US Government and US Military services. These projects (mostly classified) typically involved complex infrastructure and logistical support facilities required by strategic mission organizations. These projects typically required facilities around the world, in both US territories and alliance countries. The projects involved all engineering disciplines on a integrated basis. Prior to his Parsons career, I served as an officer in the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) for 9 years, including service on nuclear powered submarines. He qualified in submarines and worked at Headquarters of the NNPP focused on the strategic development and design of future submarine systems and their land-based support systems.
For over 20 years he held both DOE Q and US Military TS clearances.
