David Michael Jerome

David Michael Jerome is the Executive Director for the Institute of Digital Engineering USA. In his new role, David seeks to advance the Institute’s vision of creating an aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing hub in the Mooresville. His work is supported by the region’s already strong digital engineering and performance racing ecosystems.

Before taking on his role at the Institute, David was the Chief Strategy and Business Officer for the City of El Paso. In this role he developed and implemented the City’s aerospace and advanced manufacturing growth roadmap. This plan created an $800 million development pipeline and 12 new companies and 150 new highly skilled jobs. Prior to his role with City government, David was President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Here he managed the nonprofit’s Hollywood Sign as well as the Walk of Fame.

David has spent most of his career working for large publicly traded companies. In these positions, he lived and worked is Asia, North America and Europe and had operations, staff as well as profit and loss responsibilities. This included jobs such as Senior Vice President for Corporate Services and Corporate Responsibility at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and President and CEO of GM Korea.

David also enjoys teaching. He has lectured at Cambridge University, in the United Kingdom, and Cornell University, in the United States and was the Adjunct Professor of Corporate Enterprise at the College of Business Administration, at the University of Texas El Paso. He has been published on subjects including branding and sustainability and has presented at TED Global on hotels v2.0. He was also the Curator for TEDx El Paso from 2016 – 2022.

He has a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law. David is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and has a Patent for Efficient Building Design, Construction and Operations. David and his wife Tracey live in Mooresville NC and have two sons.
