Using Digital Engineering to Predict Blood Clotting in COVID-19 Patients
Project Scope
In partnership with the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Dr. Joong-Lyul Lee, the Institute of Digital Engineering USA is continuing into Phase III efforts with research partner North Carolina Collaboratory to monitor, assess, and address the public health impacts of Covid-19.
Covid-19 patients experience increases incidents of blood clot formation despite being treated with blood thinners. The Collaboratory is funding the Phase III research to develop cutting edge models of blood fluid dynamics. This project will use machine learning and digital engineering to improve the understanding, treatment, and prediction of blood clot complications in COVID-19 patients.
